The music and the people to look out for -

kevin figes recording  Kevin Figes - saxophone

He says:

Kevin Figes - alto, soprano and baritone saxes. Flute and alto flute. Kevin began playing the sax in 1986 at the age of 22.  He is busy on the local scene with pianist Jim Blomfield (Septimbre and Latin Perspective), Andy Hague (big band and Silverado), pianist John-Paul Gard and the Dave Betts Quartet.  As well as jazz his other passion is brazilian music which he plays mainly on flute (with Cathy Jonesí Bossa Five and duo with James Forster (guitar)).

We say:

Kevin is one of the top sax-men in Bristol and is well-known for his technical excellence on his trademark alto sax.  He is an accomplished musician and has played with most of the top musicians in the region and also beyond.

Kevin can turn his talent to any style of jazz but if you want to hear some top be-bop then he's your man.
