Gunung (Mount) Batur

Mount Batur (Gunung Batur) is an active volcano in Bali which is located in the centre of a caldera formed around 25,000 years ago - a caldera is a crater formed by the collapse of a magma chamber after an eruption. An outer caldera contains a large crater lake.  The 700 metre stratovolcano rises from lake Batur and is a popular tourist destination.
